Originally, UFC 289 was supposed to be held in CALAGRY, Alberta Canada. HOWEVER since their NHL team, the Calgary Flames had a fraction of a chance to make the NHL 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Dana White and the UFC pulled the plug and moved the EVENT to Vancouver, BC (Rogers Arena). Not only did the Flames get OFFICIALLY eliminated from Playoff Contention a couple days later, their neighbouring Province now get's the event they were SO excited to host (over cities like Toronto and Montreal).
