This is an excellent old school match, heavy on the submissions and taking place pretty close to the mat. No high flying adrenaline rushes or monster power moves, just the sort of accomplished technical wrestling that forms the backbone of the biz. The contest starts off on a note of mutual respect between the two athletes but they soon get down to hurting each other with gusto. After a brief spell of two-way armwringing, Malia sets the tone of the match by taking Allysin down to the mat with a Cloverleaf. Allysin counters with a chokehold, but Malia busts out and puts her in a Neckscissors in return. The ladies go back and forth throughout in similar fashion, applying tight and constrictive holds while consistently keeping each other down on the mat, not counting a brief interlude in which they’re on their feet performing some skull-crushing Headlocks. Allysin suffers her share of punishment – including a prolonged Surfboard – but takes control of the match in its closing minutes by putting Malia through a series of ankle and leglocks. Whether Malia can walk away from Allysin’s crippling leg attacks is an open question…
