David Raya has come third in the voting for our men’s Player of the Season for 2024/25. The winner of the Premier League Golden Glove for the second consecutive season, David was in incredible form between our posts during a campaign in which he made 55 appearances, the most by a goalkeeper for us since David Seaman in 1993/94. The Spanish shot-stopper kept 13 shutouts in the top-flight to share the award with Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels, and ensure that for the second season in a row, no goalkeeper kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than him. David’s season began with him winning the Premier League Save of the Month for his extraordinary stop during August’s clash against Aston Villa, and then the following month he made nine saves against Man City. In December, David claimed a clean sheet against Ipswich Town, his 23rd in 50 Premier League games for us to break Seaman's record set in 1993 for the most clean sheets kept by a Gunners goalkeeper in his first 50 appearances in the division. Another Save of the Season accolade came his way in March when he again produced heroics in Manchester to keep United at bay late on at Old Trafford, while his 13th league clean sheet helped us clinch Champions League football next term despite facing an xG of 1.94 against Newcastle United, his highest ‘goals prevented’ total in his Premier League career.
