This is when Rey Mysterio was forced to quit Smackdown. At Great American Bash 2006, Rey faced King Booker for the World Title, where Chavo Guerrro betrayed Rey and Booker won the title. On Smackdown, Rey said he focuses on the title. Chavo said he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation, saying he will educate Rey next week on the true meaning of the name Guerrero. Booker was celebrating, Rey attacked him, caught him with a seated senton and followed by the 619. Then there was a rematch, where Chavo attacked Rey again and Booker retained. A week later, Chavo said Rey is a thief and he stole everything from him, adding that Rey used and leeched off Eddie’s name. He kept benefiting from the Guerrero family sympathy and he still took all the glory. He stole Eddie’s memory from everyone so he had to stop Rey because he was a leech living off the Guerrero name. Rey appeared and they started brawling until Vickie stopped them. Next week, Vickie wanted Chavo to stop, saying it’s tearing up the family. Chavo said it’s Rey who is tearing it up because Rey’s last name is not Guerrero. Vickie was begging Rey to stop. He said in the name of Eddie, he will try to avoid fighting Chavo. Then Rey faced Mr. Kennedy. Chavo appeared, Rey dropkicked him, they started brawling and Vickie got knocked down. Rey was checking on her and Chavo caught him with a cheap shot. Rey vs Chavo was announced next week for Summerslam. Vickie was begging Teddy Long to cancel the match, who said the match is still on. Then they met at Summerslam. Vickie tried to stop Rey and knocked him down by mistake. Then Chavo hit Rey with a frog splash to win the match. On Smackdown, Vickie said it was an accident and apologized to Rey, who then hugged her. Chavo came out, Vickie apologized for slapping him in the match and they hugged.
