This is when Cody Rhodes underestimated Christian. At Over the Limit 2012, Christian won a battle royal and challenged Cody for the Intercontinental Title. Christian hit Cody with the Killswitch to win the title. On Smackdown, Christian beat Hunico in a non-title match. Cody appeared, saying he restored the glory of the title after it was held by jokes like Santino Marella. Christian ruined everything in one night, saying nobody will care about the title anymore because nobody cares about Christian, adding that he’s going to get his rematch. A week later, Cody beat Tyson Kidd with Christian on commentary. Cody went in front of him and stared him down. Next week, Christian was about to host his show, Cody came out before him and hijacked it. Cody said Christian stole the title he brough glory back to.
