World Championship Wrestling presented a tag team main event on this show; Kevin Nash and Sting vs Randy Savage and Sid Vicious. It was announced on Thunder that the WCW Heavyweight Championship belt would be on the line in this tag team match, and Sting could also win the championship if he decided to turn on champion Kevin Nash. Elsewhere on the card The Jersey Triad defended their Tag Team championships against Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit, David Flair defended his US championship against Dean Malenko, and WCW superstars were invited to a Junkyard to compete for the WCW Hardcore Championship trophy.
