So this has had a lot of negative reviews. Take the film for what it is a low budget, very well made fantasy piece. I really enjoyed it. So yeah some of the Norse god stuff is a bit out, but don't let that ruin it for you. The film is well paced and entertaining. It is also well written and directed. I personally liked the acting in the film, it was good. I also thought, considering the budget, the effects were good and served their function. Well done to everyone involved as I can imagine it was a hard journey to get the film made.
A thoroughly enjoyable movie that satisfies both an intelligent mind as well as all the basics of enjoyable entertainment for a mass audience. The plot was thorough and succinct (no boring scenes), the setting was stunning and congruent to the Viking times. Plus there was the added bonus of life metaphors that were both inspiring, unique and warming - lessons of persistence and valour. In addition the characters were strong and perfectly chosen. Highly recommended.
It was a decent flick, entertaining. Few things though, the lore is a bit off. Odin has only one eye. The gods dont live in Valhalla, they live in Asgard. Also, they made Loki to be too much like the christian devil, and thats not really his thing. Either than that, entertaining.
I would recommend this movie to anyone. Good acting, good use of location and a more than comprehensible story that is very well filmed. This is a quality low budget movie that shows much promise for the director and cast.
A spectacular film with a brilliant performance by Anna Demetriou. for me the director is a genius because despite the small resources managed a masterpiece. the whole world should see this movie!!!
Beautifully directed and a really engaging film from start to finish!
I've seen a lot worse and I think that this movie could have been a lot better if they had dropped the supernatural element. I enjoy Terrace Stamp who has an impressive voice and it saddened me to see him wasted as Odin. This could have been a great movie because it had a strong female lead, betrayal, intrigue and revenge. Instead, it relies on a bunch of villain clichés and over the top acting. Like I said, the elements were all there but they stumbled towards the endgame.
