I didn't think it was possible, but this year's submission is even worse than last year's disaster. Both are painfully unfunny. It's like the writers and producers doubled-down on a horrible concept just to own their critics.
What a waste of time. Trying to find non political just funny humor is no longer available. Poor taste or rather bad taste. No humor without politics or vulgarity. Real humor is lacking and after Yearly Departed Iam happy to turn the page of these shows and don't let the door hit you.
Not sure what else to say. Last years review was bad, unlike 2021 transition in where we had much the same, this one got worse, which is hard to believe that was possible.
So much potential, embarrassingly little payoff. The credit "blooper" bits at the end are slightly more entertaining- just jump to those if you must watch.
Just watched today, New Years Eve... Refreshingly funny with a few comediennes that are new to me and a welcome introduction. Jane Fonda stuns, as does Alessia Cara. The "women aren't funny" meme should have been added to the in memoriam segment.
Sadly, I have heard my fair share of "Women aren't funny" comments from men, and this special gave them an hour's worth of evidence. :( Seriously, couldn't they get an Iliza Schlesinger or Anjelah Johnson? You know... someone who is actually funny? Will not watch again.
Best evidence that women are not comedians. I didn't know if I was watching a comedy special or a woke political rally. Adding Jane Fonda's antiestablishment drivel was a nice touch, considering she's part of the establishment. Now you know why men comedians get paid so much more.
I don't understand all the bad reviews here! But then again, I don't understand any of them on IMDB! Be like me and take them with a grain of salt! Ms. Orji was fantastic and looked ravishing in her evening wear. This was even better than the first one. Who cares if they aren't big name comedians...they're funny!
Many missed opps. NOT FUNNY - just stupid. I reallynwish there had been some better known comedians. Jane Fonda was the highlight - and that is just sad. Last year was - meh - this ywar was just not worth the 60ish minutes of my life I'll never get back.
