That’s what this video series is about, and I’m so excited to share with you Episode 1 of Legendary Striking. All of you hold a special place to my heart, and with mental health issues at an all time high around the world, this is for all of you. Martial arts has brought us peace and made our struggles more tolerable. It is only through martial arts that I am able to draw parallels to psychology and philosophy. At the heart of it, this is what I want Legendary Striking to enable: seeing more beauty in martial arts (through technique / history) and transforming the life of a martial artist (through psychology / philosophy). The Meaning of Striking Breakdowns: I’m often asked what my logo means… The etymology of 靜 is made up of two words: 青 means “youthful”, and with it usually comes immaturity and a lack of wisdom. 爭 means “to war”, to fight for, to contend, to struggle, and to strive. When combined, 靜 itself can mean stillness, calm, quiet, peaceful, and tranquil. That’s what martial arts has meant for me. Through my struggles, martial arts has been a vehicle for maturity and anti-fragility. It has helped unleash more of my potential, and it continues to do so in ways I could never have imagined. Martial arts has brought me my most treasured connections and it continues to give me peace. By creating content in martial arts, I’m hoping that it does the same for you.
