Two fighters. Two completely different paths. One brutal collision. Nate Diaz returned to the MMA cage after nearly four years away, bringing more than 15 years of UFC experience and one of the most recognizable styles in modern MMA. Mike Perry took a very different route. After stepping away from MMA, Perry built a reputation in bare-knuckle fighting, defeating opponents such as Julian Lane, Michael “Venom” Page, Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves before returning to MMA. On May 16, 2026, those two paths finally collided at MVP MMA’s event at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Perry brought his aggressive bare-knuckle experience into the MMA cage, while Diaz attempted to use his boxing, grappling, and veteran experience to turn the fight around. The fight lasted two rounds. Perry’s pressure and striking opened multiple cuts on Diaz, and the bout was stopped after the second round. Perry was awarded the victory by TKO. But the real story goes deeper than the result. This was a collision between two completely different fighting paths — UFC experience versus bare-knuckle evolution. And when those worlds finally met… only one style could control the fight. They Took Different Paths… Until Mike Perry Met Nate Diaz #america #different #mma #ufc #combatsports
