it ls a cool and great movies for children love it
source: The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea
I love this movie. I was a big fan of the first and (although usually turned off by sequels made more than two years after the original)was surprised with this one. It was not as awkward as most sequels that are done so long after the first. Now, I have one question... Has anyone else noticed that the ages for this movie are mathematically impossible? The original movie came out in 1989, and the second in 2000. This is 11 years, however, the second movie is about the daughter becoming 12. Since Ariel and Eric only knew each other three days, I doubt that the child could have been conceived early enough to make her 12 for this movie. This obviously isn't exactly the greatest comment on here, but it really is something that bothered me throughout the movie.
While this sequel isn't up to par with the original on most levels, it has one strong plus over the first - it is more enjoyable for small children (toddlers). The first is entertaining for adults and kids, but can be quite frightening at times (mine kids run across the room on some scenes). This version is purely for the kiddies - not very frightening; more soft, round, friendly critters. It isn't offensive to adults, but won't hold your interest for long. Some of the voice talents aren't as well done as the first, even tho' the same people are doing the voices (Sebastion and Scuttle, in particular). There are significantly fewer musical numbers in the sequel, and they aren't very memorable. Overall, not a bad film, but really just entertainment for kids.
