The Idol

There is no way this show should be sitting below a 7 on IMDb. Anyone can get into this but even more so if you have been close to the music industry. The weeknd plays the role of a controlling partner with purpose expertly. The lead actress plays the role of vulnerable singer with incredible poise. The plot is great so far. It is very well produced. Soundtrack is amazing. Certainly has an element of fifty shades of grey. Overall I've just finished episode three and I'm so so glad I ignored the review bombs and made my own mind up. Great show. Well done. I trust the executives will see the quality in this production. And the weeknd certainly has a future in acting should he choose to.

Enjoyed every moment the script was amazing having to watch a cast that is great at Singing and acting was life changing. Love the twist at the end of the series how the tables changed. Fantastic.

I originally gave this 7 stars but after the final episode I lowered it to 4. Why? The ending ruined any expectations I had for a decent outcome. What we got was instead an insult to the audience other than for young and inexperienced viewers who don't know any better. There was plenty of almost nudity and in my opinion depressing sex for the unstable. There was some good music and not by Josselyn, but by one of her entourage Chloe. I think the writing and the concept and the outcome was sophomoric and really shallow, not to mention disjointed from the rest of the episodes. Suddenly Tedros is an alcoholic incapable of standing up for himself after 4 episodes of him being in complete control? Just like that? Suddenly his worshippers drop him like poison after allowing him each episode to abuse them? Why? Things to get tied up in life so neatly. Very childish show and if I were in my early 20's I'd probably like it better. For shock value if anything.
