No pun intended - and hopefully you don't confuse the song and my pun - well don't mix them in a way I didn't mean them to be seen. I just like those puns (if you've read a few of my reviews, you may have already noticed). That being said, the movie seems to take notes from other movies (or even books). There are many horror themes in this - there is also some minor humor and fun in all of this. Especially when there has been so many crazy things that happened but the characters seem unable to conceive or seriously discuss a ... well crazy proposition. Sometimes the improbable can be the only thing that is true in the end. Low budget horror - old school too. If that sounds like something you like - well give it a chance. Creepy kids are always a kicker. Also some interesting ideas when it comes to death (scenes) ... apparently the money issues made the makers inventive. Seen better but this is more than decent.

When I first saw this movie, I hated it as it made little sense. Watching it a second time was good because I discovered that it did have some intelligence to it. However, it's probably too intelligent for the audience it intended to attract. The plot conecrens the inhabitants of a small town who are into witchcraft, attempting to kidnap children for evil purposes and the efforts of a family passing through the town to unravel the mystery. Though not particularly scary, it does have some moments which really stand out and are not easily forgotten. It's also nice to see Strother Martin (an underrated actor) getting to play a lead role.

An ambiguous and confusing beginning leads to a very creepy, effectual, and disturbing Horror Movie that despite its very low budget manages to maintain an aura of surrealism and tension. The most disturbing element is probably the Children in Peril aspect as these Devil Worshipers use the Souls of the Innocent to reincarnate. After the confounding first few scenes that in retrospect make more sense as things get going, it is one menacing and maniacal happening after another. There is a Post-Sixties Drug hangover that lingers here and it is quite unsettling. The ending is shocking as is some of the hallucinatory, dream-like imagery and the indoor ritual Scenes have a setting of plastic-ism and play as a Children's demented Clubhouse. This is an underrated, undiscovered, and ultimately quite the quirk that helped issue in the Screen's Satanic Seventies.

"Brotherhood of Satan" is one of the most underrated horror films of all times. Why it hasn't achieved a cult status is beyond me.This is a chilling tale of terror and witchcraft which contains one of the most powerful and disturbing climaxes in the annals of screen horror. In the small American town some children have disappeared and their parents been violently murdered. What is the cause of hysteria? The film is really eerie, some scenes are genuinely unnerving and definitely not easily forgotten. The suspense never lets up,the acting is really good, and the climax is bizarre and disturbing.Check out this forgotten gem of satanic horror.Absolutely recommended.
