Nobody beats the classic movies like this.
source: Serendipity
It's just a crazy intimate movie that is fateful
Serendipity is an adorable film featuring two likeable leads but it commits one misstep- It keeps the two leads apart from one another for the majority of the running time. This is one of those movies that thinks it's building suspense and romantic expectations by keeping the characters away from one another for most of the movie. In reality, all it's doing is delaying the inevitable moment when they finally get together and robbing us of the opportunity to enjoy them interacting. I like romantic comedies where the characters spend time with each other instead of running around New York City and San Francisco, almost bumping into each other. However, for anyone who loves romance, New York City(pre 9/11) or the actors John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale Serendipity is time well spent
This is a brilliant movie for anybody who believes in the goodwill of fate, love at first sight or simply in love. Let's hope that somewhere, somehow it is "possible to touch someone and never to let go again. To hold someone, not for a moment but forever in a world where everything is fleeting, painful and treacherous. And for the sake of that small possibility you must be willing to risk everything, to break through, to walk into the night naked..." (Andre Brink from 'An Instant in the Wind')
