An alien lands on earth, takes over the body of a handsome young man & is taken in by a lesbian couple living in a large house in the English countryside. Brilliant!! Although this is a sci-fi/horror movie it is also very heavy on drama, focusing on the relationship between the three main characters. This may put some genre fans off but personally I thought it was engrossing & very well done. Plenty of nudity here, a few gory moments too. Eerie, effective soundtrack. The film does look cheap with it's low budget & apparently was filmed in only 10 days but this all adds to it's charm.
I have to say I was impressed by this film, I was expecting very lame but I got an interesting erotic alien horror film instead. This one is very bizarre but it very watchable from my standpoint of view. Two beautiful lesbians, one a murderess and the other is strong but semi-naive that wants a man (a third for a love triangle) but the murderess does not want this. Along comes a man, an alien in fact, that stays with them a couple of days. The murderess, Joe, does not like him but lets Jessica keep him there for a couple of days but with no triangle! What we witness on screen makes for one of the strangest movies I've ever seen - but in a good way. There is nudity, sexual scenes and blood but actually done tastefully and it really surprised me. Good film, interesting story to go with it. 8/10
I like this film. I like it a lot. I like it because it makes me incredibly nostalgic for a period in British cinema that has long since passed. The 1970's. A time when irreverent and irrelevant schlock like this could get made. I like it because it is monumentally silly yet eerily compulsive, possesses a truly odd atmosphere, and at one point it actually frightened me. It was made in 10 days with whatever change the crew had in their back pockets. It's very entertaining. How I wish up-and-comers would make stuff like this rather than the Tarantino and 'Trainspotting' tributes that they STILL are. Norman 'J.' Warren, I salute you.
A cannibal alien from outer space on a reconnaissance mission to Earth drops in on the estate of a monied, eccentric British lesbian and her neurotic woman-child live-in girlfriend. Now how can anyone possibly go wrong starting with a premise like that? It has the feel of a Merchant-Ivory film adapted by Roger Corman (or maybe a Roger Corman film adapted by Merchant-Ivory?) As added attractions, the women are erotic and beautiful and the music, for some reason, is awfully nice in parts. A great B-movie.
