Wonderful movie
Great movie, took me time to find it here but i remember Kathy Bates in rat race so nice to rewatch this movie, the thrilling suspense was breath taking
source: Misery
Paul Sheldon (James Caan) is a successful novelist that crashes his car into a snow bank. He is rescued by a nurse, Annie Wilkes, played by Kathy Bates. Awakening from his accident, Sheldon is told by Wilkes that she is his number one fan. The deranged woman holds the writer captive in her cabin home. She promises to let him go as soon as he writes her a personal novel. This fan can go from calm to manic in a cold, Maine moment. Screenplay by William Goldman is faithful to Stephen King's novel. Director Rob Reiner deals another ace. Look for cameo by Lauren Bacall.
The movie is very good, suspenseful action and has excellent performances by James Caan and Kathy Bates.
By far the greatest thriller of all time! Will leave you stunned at the end. Highly recommend you watch this, unforgettable masterpiece
I was 18 when this Masterpiece First came out. Kathy Bates was Incredibly Crazy in this Film. The way she Acted all Sweet and Kind. No Fuel Word's, even when she called him name's. At First she was so Sweet and Kind about everything until she had these Bad Spell's. What was Great about them. Yes they were even more Creepy. Because in seconds she was like nothing happened. The one time when she took the Sledge hammer to his legs because he was going around the house. But the way she did it and explained why she had to do it Lol. The Acting on the Both of them was at the Top. In my Eyes Kathy Bates was at the Top of her Game. She was so Creepy, so Kind, so cheerful, Loved him so much she pretty much wanted him dead WHY? Because his NEW BOOK KIND OF SUCKS. And she is not happy about it.
"Misery" is a phenomenal and stunning film. Rob Reiner has done an amazing job with this adaptation of Stephen King's novel. I loved James Caan's performance, this is probably one of his best performances along with "The Godfather". Kathy Bates is terrifying and her performance just gives me chills, her performance does give a lot to the film. What I most loved about the film was one specific scene: when the Sheriff of the town comes to investigate the disappearance of Paul Sheldon and appears at Annie Willkes house. Then gets killed. The similarity between this scene and the scene from Psycho where the private investigator gets killed at the Bates motel are amazing.
