A typical cheesy rom-com which I love. With lgbtq representation - so even better.
this was awful and horrible written piece of Hugh grant for females type of rubbish the two female characters have not got a heart and the husband who is dumped was written as a Mr. nice guy instead of a pompous asshole which didn't make the audience be on the side of the two main characters. If you want the perfect lesbian film watch Lukas Moodysson's F**king Amal or SHOW ME LOVE as its known in the English speaking world for the most touching and uplifting without it been cheesy love story and the couple in the film are great although they have their flaws, its without the best film on Lesbains i've seen.
It takes until page 5 here to find any reviews that go beyond the simplistic, predictable cheesiness of this movie. Yes, it's a cute story, but really lacks depth in both the storyline and the characters. So I suppose we are supposed to CELEBRATE infidelity (whether hetero or homo), breaking promises, and falling in love with someone you really don't know ? I can only imagine the sequel, where Luce falls for someone she doesn't know and leaves Rachel on a whim. What goes around, comes around. Yeah, I know this is a "romantic comedy" (although there is very little comedy) but the premise is troublesome and does not deliver a good message - regardless of one's views on sexual preferences.
I like it so much, I hope they will be more like it in the movies.
I can't work out whether i love this film or not. I certainly like it. Firstly I was a bit disappointed as I was ready for a hilarious film which made my heart melt. However I just couldn't help feeling very sorry for Heck (Matthew Goode). Although if you forget about feeling sorry for Heck, then it is a very good film. The acting is great' Perabo and Headey are fantastic leads and Perobos accent is very good! Goode proves again that he is a great actor, although I much prefer him not doing the Rom Com's! It really doesn't matter that they are lesbians, its still an endearing tale of falling in love. It won't make the list of my favourite films ever but it's a good watch!
