This is how Drew McIntyre proved Seth Rollins wrong. In April 2020, WWE Champion Drew faced US Champion Andrade in a champion vs champion match. Drew hit Andrade with the Claymore to win the match. Angel Garza attacked Drew from behind, Seth appeared, superkicked Drew, hit him with the stomp, took a good look at his title and hit him with another stomp. Drew was talking about what happened next week. If he wants to be the best champion, he needs to beat the best and put his title on the line against Seth. They had a contract signing a week later. Seth said he didn’t want to do that, he had to do it to get closer to the title. The fans need a leader to follow and that’s Seth. He’s willing to make a sacrifice for the greater good and Drew will understand in the future. Drew said he’s full of it, asking where his followers are, telling Seth he won’t let him take the title. Seth said Drew will be better without the title. Drew hit Seth’s head on the table, Murphy appeared and attacked Drew. Seth hugged Murphy and Drew caught him with the Claymore. A week later, Seth said Drew is a dominant champion but he’s not a leader. It’s not his destiny to be the champion that takes everyone into the future, it’s Seth’s destiny. He’s willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Drew is not ready for the suffering that comes with being a champion, saying he wants to unburden him by taking off the weight off his shoulders. Later that night, Drew beat Murphy. Drew called Seth inside the ring, who then left the arena. Seth appeared out of nowhere with a superkick, took a good look at the title, went for the stomp, Drew countered him, hit him with the Glasgow Kiss and Seth escaped the Claymore. They met at Money in the Bank. Seth superkicked Drew, who caught him with the Claymore to retain the title and to end the feud.
