In merely reading “nazm style lyrics in a conversational style” by writer Shakeel Azmi “on a piece of paper” was sufficient to convince composer Siddharth Kasyap about the potential of utilising the words in a song despite the apparent reservations expressed by the lyricist, with Siddharth Kasyap turning his thoughts into reality by composing an irresistibly pleasurable ballad in ‘Ek Mulaqat’. The comprehensively romantic song speaks about a beautiful girl’s heartfelt desire to ensure that one good turn deserves another by attempting to schedule a follow up meeting with her lover. The reason for her doing so is obvious because their only meeting so far had been incomplete as there were a lot of things that remained unsaid and, within the girl’s mind, she imagines the lovely things that still need to be shared. ‘Ek Mulaqat’, in expressing the moments of the past, and the wishful thinking of a potential future encounter has been wonderfully rendered into an effervescent, wonderful pop balled that showcases the richness of Siddharth Kasyap’s compositional skills as he renders the tune in fine form.
