Dracula
Christopher Lee is spectacular as Dracula, Possibly the best portrayal of the character to date. The film has aged well all things considered, it's not the scariest movie out there of course but it doesn't need to be. A truly enjoyable watch with a great cast.
Jonathan Harker (John Van Eyssen) is hired to be the librarian of Count Dracula. Indeed, he is an assistant of the vampire hunter Doctor Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) and tries unsuccessfully to destroy Dracula. The Count is attracted by a photo of Jonathan's fiancée, Lucy, and moves to her city ,where Dr. Van Helsing fight the vampire. Since I was a teenager, I have been a great fan of Hammer's vampire movies. "Dracula" is really a classic movie and certainly one of the best of the genre. There are funny situations, like Van Helsing studying how to kill vampires (with garlic, cross, sunlight etc.). This type of British horror film nowadays may be naive, when comparing with Jason, Mike Myers, Freddy Krueger and other bloody killers, but fans of Hammer certainly love this classic. My vote is eight. Title (Brazil): "Drácula, O Vampiro da Noite" ("Dracula, The Vampire of the Night") Note: On 31 August 2017, I saw this film again.
it reflects the spirit of novel. and this fact represents the basic difference by the others adaptations. in same measure, it use the perfect "chemistry" between Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. and, not the last, it has the courage and impeccable science of realism. so, it is easy to define it the best. because it gives a coherent story and the attention to the details is admirable. because it has the force for sustain an entire universe in its fundamental characteristics. and this is the most important source of its resistance in the competition with each new adaptation.
