Carnival of Souls
Carnival of Souls was made on a rather low budget, but despite this I found it very creepy. A car crashes off a bridge into a river, killing everybody, so it seems. A little while later, one of its passengers, a woman, emerges from the river uninjured. She accepts a job offer of a church organist in another town and she makes that her new home. She then keeps seeing a strange phantom like ghoul everywhere she goes and nobody else can see it. This strange creature seems to come from a derelict pavilion and towards the end, a load more of ghouls appear and attack her and looks like she dies. The movie is quite weird at times, but very creepy. The organ music score is creepy as well. The cast is made up of unknowns, lead by Candace Hillgoss. Carnival of Souls is a must for horror fans and don't watch this alone. Rating: 4 stars out of 5.
