He goes on to do some solid work from DLR but doesn’t get the sweep. 00:52 Green does a good job of killing the DLR guard gets to a strong position to pass,but his opponent recovers ,still that was a nice technique to get to a strong passing position. 01:35 Green gets his opponent’s sleeve and steps up on the same side first and then gets all the way up. He doesn’t have control of the center of his opponent’s torso with his forward hand so this makes him off balance. Green is able to get full vertical and break open the closed guard. Nice work! I'm putting this one in the Guard pass playlist even though he didn't complete the pass because breaking the closed guard is an essential skill. Red goes back to the DLR and shows he is really comfortable in this position. 02:13 After some nice DLR and spider guard work Red gets the trap triangle off a scramble. Things get awkward for a second when both guys are in a double triangle but as Green’s lock breaks Red transitions back to tradition triangle and gets the armbar. Nice work from both guys Red just seemed to have been specializing in that open guard and was sharp enough with it to keep Green one step behind .
