In 1999, Yoshida switched to the Inoue brother’s gym, led by Egan and Enson Inoue.[4] In 2002, Egan Inoue awarded Yoshida his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. In 2022, Yoshida was inducted into the ADCC Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class. Gilbert Melendez (born April 12, 1982) is an American mixed martial artist who formerly competed in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a two-time Strikeforce Lightweight Champion and a former WEC Lightweight Champion. He also competed in PRIDE FC, Shooto and Rumble on the Rock.
