Please don't get influenced by my rating...... it's just....... it's just..... a guilty pleasure 😁. Artistically the film would have been much better. But the concept really makes you think........ Deep! Watch at your own risk! But let me tell you this......... The title of the film plays a lot to the premise ! Good luck! 👍

Well idk. The movie's name is allegoria, but the only meaning I can currently think of behind this is the Spider One trying to show what art can mean in the way of a weird, one could say "crappy" (- me, I said that) film, almost ironically suggesting that, even though this is a poor watch, it is still art? To give credit here, it does end in 1 hour so isn't taxing to watch, but doesn't have a 'scare,' more of the same over-used sequences of the monster popping up behind people in different camera angles. However, the last of these 'tales' implements exceptional camera work and some brilliant acting from the character of Brody, other than that there is no stand out factor, for me, about this film.

This is an art film. I didn't know before I watched it but I quickly realized that. And I enjoyed the film. Because it is an art film it will fly over many people's heads. But it's a really good art film. Very engaging. Very evocative. The low ratings come from people who probably don't even know what an art film is. And there are those who hate artistry in movies. Not all overtly artistic movies are good. Some fail pretty badly. But this is a good one. If you are open minded and intelligent enough to appreciate it you will be left pondering all sorts of themes and feelings about art. Including the cost and danger of being an artist. I'm an artist myself(songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist and vocalist). To me, as artist, the themes and suggestions of this film are fascinating.

The poster fooled you when you see it (pretty scary and the typography is accurate) and the idea is not bad. Artists haunted by their worst fears could be re-arranged but making a coral movie with short stories wasn't rhe best idea. As directional outcome, Spider One is faaaaaaaaaaar away from his brother Rob Zombie. Average shots and camera angles. As acting aftermath, well... ALL actors are really bad. The worst being the writer. But all the cast are the failed assemble I've seen in a long time. I know budget limitations can't afford good and known actors, but... Pfff! The prosthetics and VFX saves the day. The Painted Monsters is well done, the sculpture of the rockstar, and the actress/demon are the highlights in that department. Spider One should have collected more money and make a way better directional debut.

Some decent effects in a movie thats both boring and badly made. The stories "twists" rarely makes sense. And it has this artsy fartsy feel, like the filmmaker thought he was contributing to high art. Plus the sound is very uneven, sometimes you cant hear anything only for the volume to suddenly go bursting high. Again a quote like "Just because you can make a movie doesnt mean you should" makes sense. Dissapointing.

There's a lot of folks on here talking about how bad the movie is, and not really giving a solid look at "Allegoria," the new film from Spider One. I haven't seen his other films, but, to me, it seems that Spider is lacking a solid script editor. "Allegoria" goes through several layers of confusion before we get to what the meat of each story is about just in time for it to end. Some of the stories work really well, such as the artist and his muse, and the script writer who is haunted by his slasher creation. The others don't. Spider tried to tie all the stories together much like "Trick R Treat" did, but with the faulty writing, horrible lighting and sound that could have been easily fixed (there's a moment when one actress taps her mic and it wasn't fixed in post) the film falls somewhere around Glenn Danzig's heap of garbage "Verotika" and all those knock off films from the 2000's that were always the discounted movies at Blockbuster. I know Spider is still working on his craft, as he is a musician first (I was a fan in high school), so I'm looking forward to his next movie and seeing how he progresses.

Had to turn on subtitles.. the talking was whisper quiet compared to the blaring, speaker destroying soundtrack. Some of the stories worked well... others were a bit long winded with no real payoff, nicely linked through out though. Kinda spooky, mostly boring.

Lots of talking about art and philosophy. Each character babbles about something art related and then something spooky happens. That's it...I think. Some of the scenes at the beginning reminded me of a David Lynch film, but it never went anywhere and was far less engaging. For a 70 minute film I found myself checking the clock often, patiently waiting for a monologues to stop so something strange would happen or a point could be made.
