Publisher's Summary Building on the principles found in his father’s best-selling book The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., invites us to gauge how attached we are to our own point of view. In The Five Levels of Attachment, he will help you gain awareness of the agreements you have been implicitly making all these years that shape your reality and affect your future and show you how to release the attachments which no longer reflect who you really are. This method is 20 years in the making. When don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., began his apprenticeship into his family’s Toltec tradition, he was just 14 years old. His first task was translating his grandmother’s talks from Spanish into English. One day, as he struggled to keep up with her, she asked him: Are you using knowledge, or is knowledge using you?Finding the answer to this question would shape the destiny of his life. In this groundbreaking work, Ruiz explains each of the Five Levels of Attachment in detail and shows that as our level of attachment to a belief or idea increases, "who we are" becomes directly linked to "what we know". Our attachment to beliefs - our own and the beliefs of others - manifests as a mask we don’t realize we can take off. But with don Miguel Ruiz’s help, and some Toltec wisdom along the way, we can return to our True, Authentic Selves, unhindered by judgment and free to pursue our true life’s calling. ©2013 don Miguel Ruiz, Jr. (P)2013 Brilliance Audio, Inc.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more? Mr Ruiz Jr. has an intellectual slant that scholar types might like. His head was there but his heart didn't seem to be.What could don Miguel Ruiz Jr. have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you? Used fewer multi-syllable words.Spoke from his heart.Which scene was your favorite?n/aWhat character would you cut from The Five Levels of Attachment?n/aAny additional comments?Because of the subject I really wanted to like this book.I listened longer than I would have because I thought the subject was valuable.I still do.I drew the inference from his writing style that this man was college educated and was writing the way he had been taught by intellectuals.I hope he will change that approach over time.He has worthwhile things to say once he speaks more from his heart.. I apologize for the negative slant here.I wish him well.

I loved the 4 agreements and expected to feel the same.It fell short. I couldn't figure out why we needed 5 levels of attachment... and like, should we stay at a 1 to 2?Those seemed like the ones that could recover quickly from loss. I realize I'm usually between 3 and 4 if my family is involved... 1 to 2 for others... But those are hard to tell the difference between.I really loved the narrator in the 4 agreements, wish they would've used him for this one, maybe that would've helped. He sounded ok but sometimes felt flat.
