Unfortunately , this is very much a case of re-writing the story to incorporate real life events. The story is not there. There is just no plot.. I do not really remember what happened throughout the film. Felt more like a bad Psych episode rather than a movie we've been waiting years for. We want a do-over. Real life Spoiler and movie spoiler. The actor who plays Carlton had a real life stroke and they must have done a huge re-write to try and incorporate that into the film. They did not do a very good job of it.

I always have been a fan of Psych! and this movie was made for both the psychos and the actors' fun a lot of great references to some episodes a lot of goody humor overall awesome maybe you'll be lucky enough to spot a pineapple !
It is good good to see these guys back together again. Hopefully we will not have to wait another 3 years for another one. Good job Peacock. It is very funny and a good mystery for them to solve. All the cast is back and some special guest stars from earlier episodes.
I was happy to see Lassiter back & with Sean & Gus coming to help investigate. Catch phrases were said but I thought original witty banter & cultural references was less than usual. I liked brief scene between Henry & Shawn but wished he & the other cast members appeared for more than what felt like quick cameos. The dream scene was dumb & went on too long. The who & why of the crime left me confused. Im rewatching 1st movie now & think its much funnier & more like the series. I really hope theyll being back Despereaux in the next movie. UPDATE: Its an homage to Hitchcock films. I will look at references again.
I have been a HUGE, dedicated fan since Day One, Episode One. I have binge-watched all seasons at least twice. I hated when the show ended. I enjoyed the first movie...mostly. But this 2nd once, not so much. One: horrible writing. Some of the quips were great, but boy, Did Shawn get vulgar. That never happened before. The storyline was so weak. I know Timothy Omundson had a real-life stroke, so I think he did exceptional. I guess I found the weakest character to be Shawn. Two: Only once did Shawn use his exceptional skills. And when he did, I was not impressed. What happened? Why not? Three: I loved that Lassiter shot the IV when he poisoned. But seriously? He could have just pulled the IV out of his arm. Again...no one loves this show more than I. Perhaps that's why I hold them to such a high standard.
For all the hype surrounding this movie and all the delays I expected it to be as good as the 1st movie. I love the cast, always will but, I just felt this movie was missing so much. I do hope they continue with more movies. I could do without Allison Miller, luckily she most likely will not be in the following movies. Not a fan of Selene either but clearly she'll be back for good.
I love the shows, but the movies have never impressed me. In the shows Shawn and Gus's relationship seemed very natural. The seem like they're trying too hard in the movies.
