What does Mike Tyson and Hajime no Ippo have in common? They both took tremendous inspiration from Jack Dempsey. Jack Dempsey was the first boxer to earn a million dollar gate, which was part of the blueprint Mike Tyson used for his own exciting style. Perhaps this is why Hajime No Ippo is one of the greatest anime show's ever as well... Not just for the signature Dempsey Roll, but for the soul the show somehow managed to capture.
